Conclusion

The Digital Addressable Lighting Interface (DALI) protocol is a commercial and industrial standard related to digitally controlled lighting. Microchip's UART module has added protocol support features that simplify DALI. Module hardware automatically adds Start and Stop bits to the data stream, and does the necessary Manchester encoding/decoding required by the DALI protocol.
