Philips Inter-Integrated Circuit (I2C) is a two-wire serial bus interface that provides data transfer between many devices. PolarFire SoC FPGAs contain two identical I2C peripherals in the microprocessor subsystem (I2C_0 and I2C_1), that provide a mechanism for serial communication between the PolarFire SoC FPGA and the external I2C compliant devices.
