This page allows to choose whether the application needs to either transmit, receive, or perform both operations. If the application needs to transmit, then the 'Transmit' option needs to be enabled. If the application needs to 'Receive', then the 'Receive' option needs to be enabled

Transmit
Selecting this option indicates that the application needs to transmit data to other devices. Refer to AVR2025 User Guide for more information. The following are the parameters that needs to be configured:

Broadcast - Choose this option if the current device (node) needs to transmit data to all devices in a network

Unicast - Choose this option if the current device (node) needs to send data to a particular device in the network

Frame Retry - Re-transmits a frame until an acknowledgment is received

CSMA-CA - Enables Carrier Sense Multiple Access - Collision Avoidance channel sensing before transmitting a frame

ACK Request - Request an acknowledgment from the receiver once the transmitted frame has been successfully received

Receive
Selecting this option enables the application to have the ability to receive packet frames sent from other devices. The following are the options to be provided:

Promiscuous mode - the device (node) receives all packets that are sent over the network rather than receiving only the packets that the device is intended to receive. It behaves as a sniffer.

Normal Mode - the device receives only the packets that it is intended to receive (based on the destination device address specified in the frames transmitted by other devices)

Once the transmit and receive parameters have been configured, press the button Next to view Microcontroller-Transceiver interface setup page.
