There are some peripherals that do not strictly adhere to this naming convention. These are the peripherals that have existed for many years and are present in almost every device. These exceptions were necessary to limit the adverse impact of the new conventions on legacy code. Peripherals that do adhere to the new convention will include a table in the register section indicating the long name prefix for each peripheral instance.
