This application note demonstrates the process to measure the pulse width of PWM waveform using Capture module of the Timer/Counter in Atmel® AVR® devices. Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) were originally predominant in motor control applications, where an MCU generates a PWM signal and send it to a target device (DC Motors). However, there are also some applications where PWM waveform is used to pass informaton from a sensor to the MCU or MCU to MCU. In such cases, MCU has to decode a PWM signal.
