This brief provides information on how to associate a user’s compiler
registration with a different mySoftware account. Follow these steps if, for example, an
employee has left the company and you want to register their activation key under your
own or another employee's account.
Login to the mySoftware account you
wish to transfer the registration to. There are three ways you can do this.
Navigate to the www.microchip.com/mysoftware website in your favorite web browser. Use your
regular Microchip Direct credentials to log in when prompted.
If you are already logged in
to your myMicrochip account (www.microchip.com) in your web browser, you can get to
your mySoftware account by selecting Registered Development Tools from the myMicrochip pull-down menu, as shown in the image
below.
From the MPLAB X IDE
application, go to the Start Page tab. If this tab is
not visible, open it using the Help > Start Page menu item. Click MY MPLAB X IDE, then
use your regular Microchip Direct credentials in the E-mail
Address and Password fields to log
in, as indicated below.
On the page that opens, click the View My Development
Tools link.
Click the Register MPLAB® Software link. This will open
the following page.
Enter the host ID of the computer
that will be running the compiler in the Your Host ID field.
If you do not need a new license file from this transfer, enter a Host ID that has
already been registered. Note that a Network License allows only a single activation
space, so if you are transferring such a license, you must use the previously
registered Host ID.
Enter the activation key that your
company was sent in the Activation key field.
Click the Get License button.
These steps will transfer the compiler registration to the mySoftware account you were
logged into. To confirm that the transfer took place, click the My
Software link to see those compilers managed by the account.
