11.1.11.3.3 Power Consumption in Idle and Ultra Low-Power Modes

  • Figure 11-56 and Figure 11-57 provide the SAMA7G5 average power consumption in Idle, ULP0, ULP1 and ULP2 modes versus temperature measured on a few typical devices. They do not provide maximum power consumption specifications.
  • All power supply inputs are powered within their operating range and in particular VDDCORE = 1.15V, VDDCPU = 1.15V.
  • There is no consumption on the device I/Os. To reach the best possible power consumption figures, it is important to set each I/O of the device to an appropriate state (pull-up/pull-down, etc.) with respect to the external components connected to these I/Os.
  • USB transceivers are disabled.
  • All peripheral clocks are disabled.
  • Current measurement is as shown in the following figure.

The figures below plot the power consumption of the device in ULP0, ULP1, ULP2 and Idle modes. They show the current consumption in VDDCPU, VDDCORE and VDDIN33:

Power (mW) = IDDCPU x 1.15V + IDDCORE x 1.15V + PIN33

with IDDCPU and IDDCORE as measured in the above table.

PIN33 contribution is 2.2 mW in ULP0, ULP1 and ULP2 modes (see Table 11-80) and 150 mW in Idle mode (application-dependent).
