This section provides a general checklist for touch applications. For application-specific information, please refer to the relevant topics or contact the Microchip Technical Support team.

Place Bulk and Decoupling capacitors as recommended in the datasheet.
Add series resistor to the touch drive pins, sense pins and the driven shield pin.
Use a resistance value between 1 kΩ and 100 kΩ for the touch lines.
The resistance value of the driven shield should be one-tenth of the resistance value used for the touch line
Define the state of the LED driven pin as either VCC or GND, depending on the design of the LED circuits.
