About the Contents in the Package

An FMEDA provides the base FIT rate of the device. When the system integrator has selected the relevant diagnostic mechanisms in the FMEDA, it also provides the means to determine the residual FIT rate.

A safety manual describes in detail how to use the device from both a hardware and software perspective in a safety-critical application that must conform to the IEC 61508 safety standard.
