This brief shows you how to cancel an MPLAB® XC compiler subscription license. You should follow these steps if you no longer require the ability to run your compiler in PRO mode nor need to utilize the compiler's full suite of optimizations.

The following steps assume that your compiler has already been registered with your mySoftware account.
  1. Login to your account in MicrochipDirect. You cannot access the required tools to cancel a subscription license from your usual mySoftware account, even though these accounts are linked.
  2. Select the My Account menu item. This will open the following page.
  3. Click the My Software Products link. This will open the following page.
  4. Click the Cancel Subscription button corresponding to the compiler whose license you wish to cancel.

The compiler will still operate after canceling the license, but fewer optimizations will be available and the performance of code it generates will be less optimal. You can renew your subscription at any time.
