1.7.5 AES TDES

Description

Triple Data Encryption Algorithm (TDES) is a symmetric key block cipher proposed in 1981, which applies the DES cipher algorithm three times to each data block. DES key size is 56 bit and 8 bits of error-detection. So key size for TDES is (56+8) 3 = 643 = 192 bits (24 bytes). Usually, three keys are generated using 24 bytes. This demo application demonstrates the functionality of Crypto v4 AES-TDES functions.

Project NameDescription
pic32cz_ca90_curiosity_ultra.XMPLABX project for PIC32CZ CA90 Curiosity Ultra Development Board

Setting Up the Hardware

PIC32CZ CA90 Curiosity Ultra Development Board

  • Connect 9v power to DC barrel jack.
  • Connect the ICD5 to the debugger port on the board and connect to computer.
  • Connect the Debug USB port on the board to the computer using a micro USB cable.
  • Open a serial monitor with baud rate set to 115200, 8-bit data, no parity, 1 stop bit.

Running the Application

  1. Build and program the application using its IDE and observe the serial COM output.
  2. The program displays which functions are being demonstrated, and prints if they are completed successfully.
