5 Other Devices/Boards
This document and referenced example code are written with the intent of use with the PIC18F26K83 PIM, Automotive Networking Development Board, and CAN transceiver Click board (MCP2542 or equivalent). However, the methods and code can be utilized and demonstrated on other boards and devices. Using different boards (for example the Microchip Curiosity HPC with a CAN transceiver Click board) is largely a matter of ensuring that the available pins and PPS settings are routing the CAN signals to the correct pins on the transceiver, with no major changes needed to either the CAN code or methodology. Similarly, the example code can be ported to older PIC18 devices with CAN modules, with the primary change required for such a port being the removal of the PPS section of the code.
