8 Bluetooth® Low Energy Throughput

The Bluetooth® Low Energy throughput measurements were taken by using the Microchip Bluetooth Data (MBD) mobile phone application. The Bluetooth LE UART sub-app can scan for peripherals and send 100 KB files to the connected peripheral device and the throughput will be measured. The Bluetooth LE UART sub-app can also be configured as a peripheral device and advertise to nearby devices. Once connected, it can also send 100 KB files to the connected central device and the throughput will be measured.

Bluetooth® Low Energy LCC Throughput

The Bluetooth LE LCC application is configured as a Bluetooth LE central device, therefore by using MBD, the mobile phone can be configured as a peripheral device and advertise to the Bluetooth LE LCC application. Four trials of Bluetooth LE throughput testing were performed by sending 100 KB files, below are the results:

Each trial is separated into each box using different colors, and each result is highlighted in yellow.

The average of these four trials is 41.8 KB/s.

Bluetooth® Low Energy Parallel 8080 Throughput

The Bluetooth LE parallel 8080 application is configured as a Bluetooth LE peripheral device; therefore, by using MBD, the mobile phone can scan and connect to the Bluetooth LE parallel 8080 application. Four trials of Bluetooth LE throughput testing were performed by sending 100 KB files, below are the results:

Each trial is separated into each box using different colors, and each result is highlighted in yellow.

The average of these four trials is 34.76 KB/s.
