1.3.2 Configuring The PRIME Library

The PRIME Library Configuration is centralized in the PRIME Stack component and allows to configure the MAC layer and the Management Plane.

Note that these options may not be available as they depend on the how the PRIME Stack has been configured.

MAC Layer Configuration

Figure 1-16. MAC Security Profile

The PRIME MAC layer supports the three security profiles (0,1, 2) defined by the PRIME specification version 1.4. The security profile used in a PRIME network is set by the Base Node, but the Service Node indicates upon registration the maximum security profile that it supports.

By default, the MAC security profile is set to 0, i.e. no security.

Management Plane Configuration

Figure 1-17. Management Plane Serial Profile

The PRIME Management Plane can be accessed through the Serial Communication Profile, as described in the PRIME specification. To use the Serial Communication Profile, the USI module is used, and thus is has to be properly configured (refer to Smart Energy documentation) by setting the USI instance to use.
