With the provided Flash software for the ATA8510 and the SAM L11, the module acts as a simple Z-Wave node without security providing on-chip temperature sensor data.

The ATA8510 Flash software implements the Z-Wave protocol stack including PHY, MAC, NWK. Due to the limited size of the 20-Kbyte user Flash of the ATA8510, the APL of the Z-Wave protocol stack is outsourced to the SAM L11 Flash software.
