4.5 Dead-Band Jitter

When the rising and falling edges of the input source are asynchronous to the CWG clock, it creates jitter in the dead-band time delay. The maximum jitter is equal to one CWG clock period. Refer to the equations below for more details.

Equation 4-1. Dead-Band Delay Time Calculation
T D E A D B A N D _ M I N = 1 F C W G _ C L O C K D B x
T D E A D B A N D _ M A X = 1 F C W G _ C L O C K ( D B x + 1 )
T J I T T E R = T D E A D B A N D _ M A X T D E A D B A N D _ M I N
T J I T T E R = 1 F C W G _ C L O C K
T D E A D B A N D _ M A X = T D E A D B A N D _ M I N + T J I T T E R

Dead-Band Delay Example Calculation

D B x = 0 x 0 A = 10 F C W G _ C L O C K = 8 M H z T J I T T E R = 1 8 M H z = 125 n s T D E A D B A N D _ M I N = 125 n s 10 = 1.25 μ s T D E A D B A N D _ M A X = 1.25 μ s + 0.125 μ s = 1.37 μ s
