1.1 Use Cases
SHA105 is a member of the Microchip CryptoAuthentication family of high-security cryptographic devices that combine world-class hardware-based key storage with hardware cryptographic accelerators to implement authentication.
SHA105 is defined specifically for use as a host-side device and is typically used with a companion device on the accessory/disposable side of an application, such as the SHA104 or other CryptoAuthentication devices. When used as a pair, the SHA104 plus the SHA105 allow for authentication through generation of a Message Authentication Code (MAC) on the SHA104 and the corresponding validation of that MAC through the use of a CheckMAC on the SHA105.
