Introduction

Microchip's Dual Axis Motor Control Starter Kit is designed specially to meet the challenging industrial requirements of performance, reliability, and safety in an easy-to-use environment. The solution is compliant with industry coding standards for developing safe and reliable software for embedded applications. Microchip offers a modular Intellectual Property (IP) portfolio, tools, reference designs, kits, and software to control motors such as Permanent-Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM)/Brush Less DC (BLDC) and stepper motors.

The kit enables you to:

  • Run a BLDC/PMSM motor in sensor-less mode
  • Run a BLDC/PMSM with encoder interface or Hall interface
  • Run a stepper motor in position mode or speed mode
  • Run a BLDC motor, a stepper motor, two BLDC motors, a BLDC motor and a stepper motor simultaneously
  • Run the reference design and develop your own design
  • Use PWM switching frequencies up to 500 kHz with 48 V and 8 A maximum
  • Connect to GUI on host PC through USB port
