2.2 Performance Measurements
- Preamble PR (depends on System mode)
- Synchronization Word S (depends on System mode)
- 64 bytes of data payload with
- 4 bytes of address
- 60 bytes of data
The measurements with TX and RX devices are performed using RF cables with ~75 dB damping in the RF path and maximum TX power settings for the TX device. To evaluate the BER and the PLR, 1000 data packets are transmitted. At the receiver, the following evaluations are performed.
- Valid header flags in the data
header for:
- Leading edge achieved stability
- Correlation quality for synchronization word is sufficient
- A valid synchronization word is detected
- Four address bytes in the data payload are valid with less than 3 bit errors.
If the data packet is not considered valid, it is counted as packet loss, and if the data packet is valid, the number of bit errors in the address and data payload is counted.
The PLR is determined as:
PLR = (number of lost packets * 100) / 1000 packets in [%]
The BER is determined as:
BER = (number of bit errors * 100) / ((1000 packets – number of lost packets) * 512 bits) in [%]
The following table shows results with the mentioned settings:
