2 MPLAB XC Compiler HPA Renewal Overview

You should receive an email to your Ecommerce account and an alert in MPLAB X IDE letting you know when your HPA is about to expire. HPA renewal can be purchased at any time prior to the expiration, or even after expiration, without penalty. This allows you to renew an HPA whenever you need it.

HPA renewal consists of these basic steps:

1. Locate the compiler that requires HPA renewal using either Ecommerce or My Development Tools (see the following sections).
2. Renew (purchase) the HPA.
3. Download the new HPA and apply it to the selected compiler activation key.
4. Download and run the new license installer.

HPA renewal will be completed on the Microchip Purchasing and Client Services (Ecommerce) website:

www.microchipdirect.com/software-products

If you don’t have an Ecommerce account, just register to open an account so that you can configure and download the HPA license.

A HPA renewal needs to be applied to a specific MPLAB XC Compiler in your account. To accomplish this after purchasing the HPA renewal, you will need to Apply HPA renewal to the specific compiler activation key. The activation key contains an HPA timer that will expire 12 months after a single renewal. Then download the updated license file and install it on your system.
