5.4 Embedded Debugger Implementation

SAM E54 Xplained Pro contain an Embedded Debugger (EDBG) that can be used to program and debug the ATSAME54P20A using Serial Wire Debug (SWD). The Embedded Debugger also includes a Virtual Com port interface over UART, a Data Gateway Interface over SPI, and I²C, and it includes four of the SAM E54 GPIOs. The kit also includes an XAM extension processor to the Embedded Debugger for on-board current measurement. Atmel Studio can be used as a front end for the Embedded Debugger.
