35.6.3.1 Shift Register Empty Interrupt

The Shift Register Empty Interrupt Flag and Shift Register Empty Interrupt Enable are the SRMTIF and SRMTIE bits, respectively. This interrupt is only available in Host mode and triggers when a data transfer completes and conditions are not present to start a new transfer, as dictated by the TXR and RXR bits (see Table 35-1 for conditions for starting a new Host mode data transfer with different TXR/ RXR settings). This interrupt will be triggered at the end of the last full bit period after SCK has been low for one ½-baud period. See the figure below for more details of the timing of this interrupt as well as other interrupts. This bit will not clear itself when the conditions for starting a new transfer occur and must be cleared in software.
