3.2 Peripheral Pin Select (PPS) Routing Conflicts
On PIC® microcontrollers, there is a feature called Peripheral Pin Select (PPS). AVR® microcontrollers have a similar feature known as Port Multiplexer (PORTMUX). With PPS and PORTMUX, peripheral signal(s) can be remapped to a different pin than the default. If not set correctly, output signals will not appear where expected and/or input signals will not reach the peripheral hardware.
