1.3 Prototype vs. Production Device Files
Prototype devices are intended for in-house research and development and, as such, do not include a factory-generated manifest file. During factory provisioning of CryptoAuthentication™ and CryptoAutomotive™ secure sub-system devices, either a Slot 0 key or a device handle and key is generated, along with device and signer certificates. For prototype Trust&GO and TrustFLEX devices, it is necessary to self-generate the manifest files.
For production secure sub-system devices, users can download the manifest file from Microchip using one of the following methods:
microchipDIRECT Manifest Portal
The manifest file can be downloaded from the microchipDIRECT portal under the user's personal login. The manifest file is available for download only after the secure sub-system devices have been provisioned and shipped to the customer.

Microchip SFTP Server Manifest Portal
The manifest file can be downloaded from the Microchip secure file transfer protocol (SFTP) server portal under the user's personal login. The manifest file is available for download only after the secure sub-system devices are provisioned and shipped to the customer. Please contact Microchip sales assistance or product support for more information.
