Matching in Smith Chart

The matching in the Smith Chart shown in Figure 1, can be done very quickly. As shown in the example, a load matching to 50Ω is performed. The start point is a complex impedance point somewhere in the Smith Chart and the goal is to reach the 50Ω reference point in the middle with the lowest quantity of components. With the first matching element, the impedance is transformed to the point that can be transferred with the second matching component to the target 50Ω impedance.
