  1. 1.Can we show all the SoC portal registered licenses in microchipDirect portal, once the customer has registered in microchipDirect?

    Answer: Yes. Microchip migrated all the user licenses from the SoC portal to microchipDIRECT. Users can purchase, generate new licenses, and manage their existing licenses on the microchipDIRECT portal.

  2. 2.How will the customer know the part number for their license? Is there an option to find the renewal license for the given software ID in microchipDirect? How to find the history of licenses on microchipDirect?

    Answer: You can verify the existing license part number on the microchipDIRECT portal. The renewal part numbers are added in the expiration notification email,which will be sent before 30 days, 15 days, and the last day of the license expiration date. Also, refer to the License selector guides to know the renewal part numbers. You can identify the history of licenses on the microchipDIRECT portal.

  3. 3.What happens when a user tries to purchase a renewal license after 45 days of the expiration date?

    Answer: Renewal licenses can be purchased if made in the following window of time: between 90 days before expiration date and up to 45 days after expiration date. Purchase a new license.

  4. 4.Can the corporate operations or finance team use microchipDirect portal account to purchase licenses on behalf of engineers?

    Answer: Yes. In this case, the corporate operations or finance team purchase a license, they need to share the Software ID to their R&D team to register the license using the microchipDIRECT portal.

  5. 5.For floating renewal orders, if a user has a five-seat floating license and tries to purchase eight seats floating through microchipDirect, will it accept the renewal order?

    Answer: No. microchipDirect will not accept the renewal order, if the user tries to place an order for more than the existing number of seats available in original license. In this case, the user needs to purchase a floating renewal license for five seats and purchase a new incremental floating license for another three seats.

  6. 6.For floating renewal orders, if the user has a five-seat floating license and tries to purchase three seats floating through microchipDirect, will it accept the renewal order?

    Answer: Yes. microchipDirect will accept the renewal order if the user tries to place an order for less than the existing number of seats available in original license. In this case, the user will have only a three-seat floating license after renewal.

  7. 7.If users have any questions on Libero or IP license orders, do they need to contact FPGA technical support team?

    Answer: Yes. If users have any questions on licensing, create a technical support case through microchipsupport.force.com/s/.

  8. 8.What are the payment methods available on microchipDirect to purchase licenses?

    Answer: See the payment methods available on microchipDirect website to know the list of payment methods available for continent and country.

  9. 9.While purchasing Libero renewal and incremental licenses through microchipDirect, is there an option to change the email ID of the user instead of the email ID who registered original Libero license?

    Answer: Renewal and Incremental licenses are sent to the registered user of the original Libero license. To change the email ID of the original license, create a technical support case through microchipsupport.force.com/s/.
