Introduction

The WINCS02 Wi-Fi® module with external antenna requires an antenna-specific calibration step when the external antenna’s Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR) is not ≤ 1.5 (meaning the return loss is > -14 dB) within the operating bandwidth of 2400 MHz to 2484 MHz. This external antenna calibration procedure is crucial for achieving the best results for external antennas with 1.5<VSWR<2. This document describes the necessary requirements and the calibration procedure.
