Introduction

This application note aims to provide recommendations and assistance to those designing 10BASE‑T1S systems. In particular, this application note provides some information about best practices when designing a PCB layout for T1S PHYs and transceivers. Microchip is constantly developing improvements to the recommendation list. The information presented in this application note is based on the LAN8650/1 and LAN8670/1/2, but is also applicable to other 10BASE‑T1S PHYs and transceivers. Much of this information is also based on the Bus Interface Network (BIN) application note, AN1718, found on the Microchip website.
