4 Next Steps

After reading this guide, follow these steps:

  • Before connecting the board to the mains, read the related hardware guide: “PIC32CXMTSH-DB HW User Guide” or “PIC32CXMTC-DB HW User Guide”. Take into account that high voltages are present in the boards, so a basic knowledge of the hardware is highly recommended. Additional details can be found in the design files (schematics and PCB), provided in pdf and Altium formats
  • Check the “PIC32CXMTx Metering Demo and Developer User Guide” and start evaluating the Microchip Smart Metering solution. During the evaluation process, examine the metrology library related documentation (“Microchip PIC32CXMTx Metrology User Guide” and “Microchip PIC32CXMTx Metrology Data Sheet”)
  • Check the availability of newer releases in the Microchip website
  • To modify the demo meter application or to start developing your own application, check:
    • The Demo Meter Application Source Code (IAR project)
    • The microcontroller data sheet
    • The metrology library related documentation (“Microchip PIC32CXMTx Metrology User Guide” and “Microchip PIC32CXMTx Metrology Data Sheet”)
