6.1.5 Azure Cloud Demo
Azure cloud demo with the latest release (v2.0.0
), demonstrates Azure IoT
Hub connection without configuring RNWF02 device as a IoT Plug
and Play component. This demo allows the DUT to connect to IoT hub without using Azure DPS and
IoT Central services. The demo uses X.509 CA Signed as Authentication type while creating a
device under an IoT Hub. For more details on creating Azure IoT hub or creating a device,
refer to the Appendix A.1 – Uploading a Certificate to
IoT Hub Azure
chapter.
The RNWF02 board acts as a MQTT client based on inbuilt MQTT AT Commands. The RNWF02 module ships with a built-in X.509 root certificates to authenticate Azure MQTT server which simplifies the TLS handshake protocol with Microsoft Azure. Users can upload the device certificates into the RNWF02 for the TLS client authentication. Using this application, most users can connect their Microchip RNWF02 to Azure Cloud/Azure IoT Hub in few minutes.
