Tools supported in MPLAB X IDE are also supported in MPLAB IPE. To find out which tools are supported for which devices, refer to the Device Support List.

Gen 5 Tools

The following Gen 5 programming tools work with IPE:

MPLAB® ICD 5 In-Circuit Debugger - recommended for production programming
MPLAB® PICKit™ 5 In-Circuit Debugger - recommended for production programming
