4 Additional Microchip WPC Products

The TA100 is Microchip’s recommended Secure Storage Subsystem (SSS) for automotive WPC power transmitters that require authentication. This device addresses only the security functionality of the power transmitter. For industrial and commercial applications, Microchip also offers non-automotive security devices. While the device selection may vary, the fundamental WPC engagement flow remains consistent. In addition to SSS devices, Microchip provides complete system solutions for WPC Qi power transmitter reference designs based on the dsPIC33C device families, with options that include or exclude authentication support.

Microchip’s 15W WPC Wireless Power Solution

Microchip’s 15W automotive wireless power transmitter reference design is based on the dsPIC33CK256MP506 microcontroller, which meets AEC-Q100 Grade 1 quality requirements. This reference design delivers a comprehensive solution and incorporates multiple Microchip components, such as a CAN FD transceiver, LDOs and switch-mode regulators, gate drivers, operational amplifiers, and temperature sensors. Microchip also supplies reference software that implements Qi specification v1.3 and supports robust and efficient Foreign Object Detection (FOD). Authentication is implemented using the TA100, with optional support for the ECC608-TFLXWPC. For more information, see the 15W Multi-Coil Wireless Power Transmitter reference design.

ECC608-TFLXWPC

The ECC608-TFLXWPC is part of Microchip’s CryptoAuthentication TrustFLEX offering and serves as the recommended SSS for non-automotive applications. The device supports WPC Slot 0, provides defined support for WPC Slot 1, and can also enable secure TLS infrastructure. The ECC608-TFLXWPC is integrated into the Trust Platform Design Suite use cases.
