3.2.7 GM02S Module

Sequans GM02S is a low-power consumption cellular module suitable for small form factor designs. The Monarch 2 GM02S is Sequans’ Single-SKU RF front end and this enables the use of the module in any band worldwide. An integrated EAL5+ secure enclave enables secure storage of SIM (iSIM).

The module is powered from the VCC_P2V5_P5V25 net and outputs 1.8V on the VCC_CELL_P1V8 net, which can be used to provide power for small devices up to 100mA maximum current draw. The VCC_CELL_P1V8 is routed as power for the eSIM footprint.
Warning: The I/O for the GM02S operates at 1.8V, with a maximum input of 3.3V. Any voltage exceeding 3.3V may damage the GM02S module.
The GM02S module’s power consumption varies depending on the state of the module:
  • Active/Standby mode – 30 mA
  • Light sleep mode – 200 µA
  • Deep sleep mode – 1 µA
