8 Conclusions

With good quality cable and well designed nodes, it is possible to achieve up to 50 meters and up to 50 nodes using Microchips 10BASE-T1S product and have systems that function with high levels of noise immunity. In quiet environments, up to 100 meters have been demonstrated with 2 nodes.

To achieve reliable results, the mixing segment needs to be properly simulated. Simulation of the mixing segment begin with good models for the MDI combined with accurate cable models taken from laboratory measurements which are used to simulate the mixing segment. Simulation enables an understanding modeling of the system inherent noise, which makes it possible to determine if a configuration will work in a given noise environment.
