2.2 Hardware Environment Setup

This section gives an overview about the evaluation kit and the hardware environment setup.

Connect the ATA5831-XPRO extension board to the extension header (EXT1) of the ATSAMC21-XPRO board (see Figure 2-1).
Note: The ATA8510 is the industrial version of the ATA5831-XPRO extension board and has the same functionality. Therefore, the ATA5831-XPRO extension board is used for this industrial demo kit.

Note: The user must set the jumpers in the correct way:
- ATSAMC21-XPRO VCC-SEL 3.3V – Position the jumper to connect the center pin with the pin labeled 3.3V.
- ATA5831-XPRO Programming Enable – Adjust the jumper to the Enable position to allow the board to enter Programming mode.
