23.2.2 Power Mode Selection
The MVIO module can be configured in two different power modes using the IOMON bit of the VDDIOxCON register. The
dedicated internal VDDIOx voltage monitor and Power-on Reset (POR) circuitry
are enabled by clearing the IOMON bit. This configuration
should be used when VDDIOx and VDD are being supplied from
different power sources to ensure that the VDDIOx and VDD voltage
monitors are both enabled and monitoring the power supplies separately.
Alternatively, in applications where VDD and VDDIOx are physically connected to the same power source and are operating at the same voltage, the domains can both be monitored using the standard VDD voltage monitoring and POR circuitry. The dedicated VDDIOx voltage monitor and POR circuitry can be disabled to minimize current consumption by setting the IOMON bit of the VDDIOxCON register.
