An 8-bit PIC microcontroller equipped with I3C Target capability and supporting other serial communication protocols such as I2C, SPI and UART are used to implement the multi-protocol translator. Refer to the Microchip product page to select a compatible PIC device. To implement the complete system using the multi-protocol translator, an I3C-capable Controller is required, which communicates with the I2C /SPI/UART-based devices through the PIC microcontroller. Any generic device on the I2C /SPI/UART interface can be connected to the PIC microcontroller.
