1 Introduction
The Radiation Tolerant PolarFire® (RTPF) Dev Kit provides a platform to customers for developing and evaluating control, Digital Signal Processing (DSP), Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) and Image Processing applications, along with high-speed serial connectivity and bus interfaces, using Microchip’s latest RTPF Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs). The development board features a RTPF 500 device, offering 481000 logic elements, 33 Mbits of embedded SRAM, 1480 DSP blocks and 24 lanes of 10 Gbps transceivers in a ceramic package with 1509 pins.
This kit is ideally suited for high-speed transceiver evaluation, control, DSP, Communications and Image Processing algorithms. The RTPF Development Board has numerous standard and advanced peripherals such as: Two High-Pin Count (HPC) FPGA Mezzanine Card (FMC) connectors for using many off-the-shelf daughter cards, DDR3 x 72 Dual Inline Memory Module (DIMM) connectors, RT Gigabit Ethernet connection, CAN Header, Bread board connector, USB-UART Connector, 1 GB Quad SPI (QSPI), and Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) Flash and numerous SMAs. There is a FlashPro6 programmer embedded on the board that allows the programming of the RTPF FPGA through the USB-JTAG interface, without the need of an external programmer. Designers, who prefer to use an external programmer such as FlashPro6, have access to the JTAG programming header on the board.
