27.2.1 Starting a Conversion

To enable the ADC module, the ON bit must be set to ‘1’. A conversion may be started by either of the following:

Software setting the GO bit to ‘1’
An external trigger (source selected by the ADC Auto-Conversion Trigger (ADACT) register

Important: The GO bit should not be set in the same instruction that turns on the ADC. Refer to the “ADC Conversion Procedure” section for more details.
