1 Introduction
This document describes how to integrate the PSA Cryptography API v1.2-compliant TF-PSA-Crypto library on PIC32CM-SG microcontrollers for secure embedded applications. It explains the hardware and software prerequisites, Arm® TrustZone® memory partitioning considerations and configuration options used to tailor the cryptographic feature set.
The guide covers four pre-built configuration profiles, from Small to Full, each expanding algorithm support and resource requirements, and outlines how to create custom profiles.
It then walks through the integration flow in MPLAB® X IDE with both the library method and the source code integration method, including Arm TrustZone project setup, library and header integration, PSA Crypto subsystem initialization and secure veneer function design for Non-Secure access. In addition, the document includes troubleshooting guidance, common error codes and reference information for PSA Crypto API usage and PIC32CM-SG hardware specifics.
