Network Joining Time: The time taken by a device to successfully connect to the network after it is powered on or reset, measured from the start of the join procedure until it becomes an active member capable of communicating with other nodes. In a Thread network, this process includes network discovery, authentication, and address configuration. For a network consisting of 200 nodes, the total network joining time was measured as 28 minutes, representing the time required for all nodes to successfully attach and become active members of the Thread network. This joining duration is considered optimal for a network of this scale and demonstrates efficient network formation and device attachment.

Round-Trip Time (RTT) and Latency: Round-Trip Time is the total time taken for a packet to travel from the source node to the destination node and back, while latency is the one-way delay for the packet to reach the destination. For a two-hop transmission with a 1000-byte payload, the measured round-trip time is 775 ms and latency is 388 ms, demonstrating efficient network performance.

Packet Error Rate (PER): PER is the ratio of incorrectly received packets to the total number of packets transmitted, indicating the reliability of the communication link. In a single-hop transmission, the network achieves a 0% PER for a 1000-byte payload, indicating error-free communication.

Throughput: Throughput is the rate at which data is successfully transmitted over the network, typically measured in bits per second. For a multi-hop network with two hops, the measured throughput is 24 kbps, which demonstrates efficient data delivery and stable network performance.
