This section lists use cases where the SAFLOCK feature of 8-bit PIC microcontrollers is advantageous.

Immutable Storage: The OTP SAF area can be used as immutable storage in security-critical applications to securely store data such as digital signatures, checksums and code-signing certificates, thereby protecting it from external cyberattacks and malware intrusions.
