2.2.2 Negative Phase Sequence

In case of a negative/reversed phase sequence, the voltage on all the three lines of three-phase supply cycles through 360°, while L3 phase lags L1 by 120° and L2 lags L1 phase by +240°. The sequence L1-L3-L2 is termed as negative or reversed phase sequence.

Figure 2-1b shows the negative or reversed phase sequence of the three-phase supply, where L2 and L3 phases are interchanged from the normal sequence.
