3.2 Connectors

The connectors on the PIC32MK MCM control board are highlighted in the following figure.

Figure 3-1. PIC32MK MCM Control Board Connectors
  • J1, J2, J3:

J1, J2, and J3 implement the DC 12V output interface.

  • J13, J17, J20:
    • J13, J17, J20 are used to connect with the J5 on the driver board
    • J13 is for the driver board #1, which is the mandatory driver board
    • J17 is for the driver board #2
    • J20 is for the driver board #3
Each of J13, J17, and J20 contains the same interfaces as the J5 on the driver board:
    • Driver power supply input
    • PWM input
    • DC bus voltage output
    • Back EMF output
    • Phase current sample output
    • DC bus current sample output
  • CN1, CN2, CN3:

The following interfaces are implemented in each of CN1, CN2, CN3:

    • HALL signal input: Only HALL signals with an open-collector output are supported.
    • QE signal input: QE signals with open-collector output or 5V/3.3V voltage output are supported. Related jumpers need to be configured for different types of signals. See the Configuration section for details.
    • 5V/3.3V output
  • J22, J23, J24:
    • J22 is for the UART #1 interface
    • J23 is shared by the UART #2 or the CAN interface
    • J24 is for the SPI interface
  • P1:
    • P1 is for the debug interface
