3.10.3 PUF Built-In Self-Test (BIST)

The BIST in the PUF module is triggered by the BIST command and runs until it is finished.

The BIST can only be started when the PUF module is in Initialized or Stopped state.

After the BIST is finished, the PUF module resets, runs the Initialization operation and enters Initialized state.

When the BIST operation is performed, a time-out procedure must be included in the calling software. This prevents infinite waiting times in case a PUF module hardware error prevents the BIST from finishing. When the software time-out occurs, the PUF module must be reset to stop BIST.
