Introduction

The Configurable Logic Cell (CLC) is a peripheral that allows for the on-chip creation of custom logic functions for PIC® microcontrollers. The CLC provides programmable combinatorial and sequential logic that operates independently of CPU execution. It can also be used for interconnecting peripherals and designing general-purpose logic, reducing or replacing the need for external circuitry.

This technical brief provides a basic overview of the initial setup and capabilities of the CLC peripheral, as well as an introduction to software tools intended to make this setup easier. For specific details on the implementation of the CLC in a particular device, please refer to the device data sheet.
