4.3.1.1.2 Dedicated Recovery Image

The simplest approach to having a prior version saved for recovery other than the latest is using a dedicated recovery image section. This requires more memory usage but reduces risk by separating the download image space from the recovery image space.

The permissions for the recovery image can be write-protected except when a new recovery point is set.

In a scheme that has a dedicated recovery image, the write access to the download scratchpad can be left open. This simplifies the download process without compromising the recovery image but requires additional memory.
