3.3.6 Supply Monitor

To ensure the PL460 operates correctly, it is essential for the MCU to monitor the availability of the 12V supply and prevent transmission attempts when the voltage is insufficient. The following circuit has been implemented to address this requirement.

If monitoring the 12V supply voltage through the MCU is not feasible, a hardware control should be implemented to prevent transmissions when the 12V rail is not adequately powered. By default, this hardware control is disabled on the PL460-EK. To enable it, add a wire connecting pad 0 of R80 (output MCP6541) to the pin 4 of the Xplained Pro connector (signal XPL_TXEN of J2).
