2.2 One-Time Programmable (OTP) Memory

SAM9X7 Series MPUs embed an OTP memory with 10 Kbytes of user area used to securely store the following:

Boot Configuration Packet
Secure Boot Configuration Packet
Keying material wrapped in a unique PUF key
Root CA public key hash

Once the data is written and permanently locked, it becomes tamper-resistant, forming the device’s hardware Root of Trust.
