4.6 Shielding

Proper shielding of an application helps to suppress the unwanted radiated emissions to other systems and also protects the system from unwanted radiated signals. It is very important to have a consistent shielding as small gaps or holes can make the shielding useless or even worsen the situation. The drawbacks of a shielding is that it is a high-cost factor for the application and also shielding does not protect the application from disturbances that are coming through the pass band.
